MADDIE DESILVA

Clinical Psychologist Registrar

Maddie DeSilva (she/her) is a Clinical Psychologist Registrar who has completed a Master of Professional Psychology and a Master of Clinical Psychology (Advanced). She currently works with young children, adolescents, and adults across private practice, hospital, and intensive treatment settings.

 

Maddie has a strong interest and years of clinical experience in working with eating disorders and body image concerns, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID, and OSFED. She regularly supports clients with complex presentations, including co-occurring depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma histories, and neurodivergence, and works with individuals across different stages of recovery.

 

Alongside this specialist area, Maddie works with clients experiencing a broad range of mental health concerns, including anxiety and mood disorders, OCD, phobias, trauma-related difficulties, neurodivergent identity and associated challenges, emotion regulation difficulties, personality disorders, grief and loss, and relationship difficulties, and is informed by an attachment-based framework.

 

Maddie’s approach is client-centred, warm, and grounded in evidence-based practice. She tailors therapy to each client’s goals, strengths, and needs, drawing on established psychological frameworks to support insight, self-compassion, and meaningful change.

 

Maddie has experience working within multidisciplinary teams across inpatient and outpatient contexts, and collaborates closely with families, schools, and other health professionals where appropriate. She also has experience providing individual, group, and family therapy.

• Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E)

• Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for ARFID (CBT-AR)

• Family-Based Treatment (FBT)

• Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

 

Maddie’s practice is inclusive of all body sizes, neurotypes, genders, and sexualities, and is aligned with Health at Every Size (HAES) principles. She is a member of the National Eating Disorders Collaboration (NEDC) and adheres to the WAEDOCS clinical guidelines in her work.

 

She offers appointments in person and via telehealth on Fridays and Saturdays.
